French actresses

By Slavica | March 2, 2011

In writing what comes to mind, I simply wanted to say that Hollywood is amazing, and I’m really proud that so many great films are American!  With the Oscars here, I can’t help but be fascinated by the elegance and “French” appearance of some of the famous French actresses.  Their “frenchness” seems so apparent yet is so hard to define.  Is it their “je ne sais quoi” that makes their appearance or is their appearance that which gives them their “je ne sais quoi”?

a publishing deal

By Slavica | February 25, 2011

Can you believe it…Jason flies off to New York City this morning to meet with a publisher interested in our book concept!

I truly believe all this is going so fast and is becoming magnetic.  First Paris, now a new business venture, collaborating with some phenomenal photographers (and you will see a LOT more of their work, soon!) starting to work with French designers on products and now the book deal.  I love it all!

Gotta fly!  I’ll be posting the updates from Jason’s trip in NYC soon!  By the way, one of the photographers that is interested in contributing to our idea is meeting him there.  I can’t wait to see the pics!

Who am I?

By Slavica | February 21, 2011

Who am I? I’m an American woman who wants passion in my life. I want to surround myself with things and people who make me happy. I want to fuel this passion with these people and things. Appreciating that what I already have and that what is already around me.

I love Arizona sunsets.

I love architectural details and notice them from the ordinary to the extraordinary.

I love photography, viewing them and taking my own.  Especially cool, hip, passionate and artistic photographers who bring out emotion. Our friend XD does this for me.

I love fashion; wearable and for the interiors.

I love dreaming of where my life may take me.

What is attractive to me and makes me happy is what I care about.  I appreciate that which inspires me to be a better person for myself, my children and I want to pay this forward.  To my husband who has always believed in me, even before I had belief in myself.  And to anyone else who has ever doubted themselves. I want to pay this forward for them.

This blog is about my passion and desire and the little things in life. I want to inspire others: How to live seductively through everyday life.

What do I want to write about and give to others? I want to start a revolution. Enough of wanting the excess. Let’s just appreciate the things surrounding us now.

Seductive fashion to wear. Charming interiors. Why we should eat fine foods (not expensive, just fine). Gift giving, with thought in mind.

Inspirational thoughts and ideas. Of who I can be. Or maybe of who I always was?

Ways to live a better life, starting on the inside and working out. Starting with myself. And teaching this to my children. And knowing my husband feels the same.

Showing photos that are inspiring. That make me think. Or simply smile.

Again, this is about what we care to attain and which we each already have. That are on the inside sometimes.  Most importantly understanding and sharing how to appreciate that which cannot be defined:  Seduction.

Why I choose French as my Seductive theme: Everything they do is so intentional and exquisite. Their haute couture, the elaborate architecture, how eclectic they are and live. Their cuisine and daily enjoyment of it. They take the time to do EVERYTHING right. We here “just do it.” That is our American motto, right? Do we really need bigger houses, bigger cars, bigger refrigerators (or two), for what…for us to just become bigger people?

Europeans in general have a slower paced and grander appreciation of not only life but how to live it. Specifically the French for their still desire to create only the finest – from each individual’s ability. Respecting themselves first and then others.  This is who I am.

Obsession

By Slavica | February 19, 2011

I have an obsession. More of an addiction, some call it. I need it every day. I need it first thing in the morning. Actually, I have to have it more than just once a day. It takes me to a happy place every time. Unknowingly, it puts a smile on my face from the moment it reaches my lips.

The best part about it, is I love sharing it with others. Usually people I know, but sometimes it’s better with strangers. Somehow allowing you to connect with less barriers. For some reason, it just allows you to relax and open up.

Other times, I’m alone. But again, there is that smile.

My favorite types are the international. I have several hot favorites. I love the short Italian…fast and strong. Then there’s my Latin lover in the raw, the Columbian. And if you ask me, the French do it best…Latte style! Coffee, yes coffee!

Having coffee alone while reading, or in a café with others. They are some of my favorite moments in life. And it is something about the coffee. You do not get the same feeling if you are drinking a soda, for instance. And it’s different than when your are sipping on wine (another obsession I will discuss some time soon. One addiction at a time please).

Think of all the productive conversations you’ve had over coffee…solving all of your girlfriends’ relationship problems have all happened over coffee. And I’m sure you have come up with at least 17 different ways for peace on earth and to end world hunger for all mankind when in deep conversation with people. Ok, it’s time for another coffee break.

P.S. I just got inspired….I’m going to re-read the first 3 paragraphs (only) to Jason tonight and see what happens.
